I am partial to the equine world being a horse owner myself. This just sickens me to no end...
On another forum it was said that At Misty Meadows Farm on Providence Rd. where they do their Mitey Riders non-profit program for special needs children, a therapy horse was shot with an air rifle at close range.
The OP was made today but I do not know the exact date. This has to have been done by a very sick individual. If you are unsure of which farm this is, this is that magnificent black fenced farm north of New Town Road on Providence. They only cater to special needs children and they use volunteers to get by.
They are offering a $2500 reward to the names leading to the arrest of whoever used the air rifle to shoot the horse. If you have any information please contact the farm, or the Weddington Police.
I hope this person gets whats coming to them!
Correction: This occured in Weddington, not Waxhaw

My son rides in this program and I am sick to my stomach hearing about this. Sick person who I hope is caught and gets what they deserve. I am outraged by this.
As long as our society continues to slap people of the wrist instead of holding them accountable for their actions, we'll see more and more senseless and destructive acts like this. What a damned shame to hear of this.
How do you know the person that did this didn't immediately regret it? How do you know the person isn't permanently haunted by their own drunken actions? How do you know the person wasn't forced, at gunpoint, to do what they did in order to survive?
You people are so judgmental.
