Which means the NAACP can still picket HIS HOUSE. News Corp has the SPEED Network in Charlotte too but I don't know if broadcasting will intersect with his new gig or not.

It's time to split the system into 3-5 autonomous units.
CMS is one of the largest systems in the country.
Toss in busing ~100,000 miles EACH day and you have an uncontrollable mess.

The Lake Norman area has wanted to break away from CMS for a long time.

Peter Gorman is well respected in his field - well respected.

He did a great job in very difficult circumstances during his 5 year tenure.

Charlotte was lucky to have him and I hope the search committee looking to replace him can find someone as qualified.

And the cities that surround Lake Norman probably had the highest % of tax payers seeing an increase in property taxes due to the reval. I think Huntersville is seeing 80%.

Taxation without representation?

The way the law was written, the money generated doesn't actually have to be used for education. Perdue, for example, used some of it to pay for Medicaid. Counties will often take the money money they do get for education and simply off-set the money and use it for something else. Remember these are the minds of the gubment bureaucrat. They don't think like you and I as they see this as a perfectly normal situation.

Wow I go out of town and all sorts of changes happen. That'll teach me.

Seriously tho: time to split the district up into manageable units. Never understood how such a large entity could function.
