Looking for some recommendations on some nice high-end furniture stores around Charlotte. We are moving to Mooresville and want some really nice stuff for the new house. We like bold furniture that is structurally well-built and very unique. Any recommendations?

Restoration Hardware at Phillips Place would fall into that category.

We have a Restoration Hardware here in Pittsburgh. Their stuff is nice, but overpriced and too common. Looking for something a little more custom and original. no chains.

There is a brand new furniture store in Mooresville called WOW Furniture. It's in the rebuilt Burlington Mills site.I'd start there, especially since they are local to where you are moving!

Hudson Broyhill, located at Carolina Place and Blacklion, several stores in the area. Blacklion also carries Broyhill in their stores. I know you don't like chains, but Crate and Barrel carries some nice quality pieces.

It's actually called Merino's Furniture & Carpet. It's in the Old Mill in Downtown Mooresville on Hwy 115. They plan on having their official grand opening in August. By then, they will be fully stocked.

Also in Mooresville is Brawley's Furniture Warehouse at the corner of Hwy 3 & 115. It's a white bldg, across the street from Mitchell College Mville campus. It's one of those places where you go every so often to see what they just got in. Alot of one-of-a-kind, close-out stuff. They also carry Bassett furniture, which you can order from them & it will cost alot less than retail. I've purchased several items from them & have been very pleased. Also in Mooresville, on 150 where Kohl's is is Kagan's Furniture. They have alot of bold pieces in there. I've purchased 2 wall units from them that I am quite pleased with.

We traveled to Highpoint and went to Boyle's and Furnitureland South. They have all types of furniture at every price point, make and model.
Saw the same highend furniture at the little boutique furniture stores but we paid alot less and had more of a selection. Their designers are great to work with.

Personally, I really like Stickley's, at Colony and Sharon. High quality furniture.

Design Within Reach. Easily the best source in Charlotte. The aesthetic is mid-century modern - my favorite design era - and definitely not common or boring. I don't think any other store in Charlotte sells Eames lounge chairs, Hansen Swan sofas, Barcelona chairs, LC3 Grand modeles, etc.

If I had a spare $100k to spend on furniture, this would be where I'd spend it.
