My husband & I are looking for recommendations to restaurants that serve health-conscious fare or have good salad bars. Any organic food restaurants? We're looking from Hickory to Charlotte and everywhere in between. Thanks.

I like the salad bar at Jason's Deli. They say they use a lot of organics.

Try Crisp Foods ( CrispFoods.com ) on the corner of 7th St (Monroe Rd) and Pecan Ave.

They have awesome salads and other stuff too.

Healthy eating establishments are far and few between unfortunately.....

I stop in Fresh Market and Lowe's Foods (for their salad bar) whenever I get the chance...

What an oxymoron.
Since when do restaurants serve healthy and good at the same time?
Order a salad in a restaurant and you get the basics of healthy and then they throw on the bacon or the fried chicken or something else with lots of salad dressing. Then the salad you order is big enough for 2 or 3 people.
It takes more time to order a salad done the way you want than just accept the salad they prepare.
Food the same thing. Basics are hard to find and seem a bother when ordering for special needs.
You feel bad if you don't get all the stuff thrown on because the prices are so high for the healthy foods.

Easier to prepare foods at home, the way you want, at very reasonable costs.
