Re: Are there affordable places in Brooklyn Heights -- no, not that I've seen anyway. That's about as pricey as you can get in Brooklyn - that was my point in what I wrote earlier, my apologies if it came out jumbled.
Regarding Bed-Stuy, I actually have some friends living there now. It's definitely still on the gritty side, but there are new bars and restaurants and the like coming up there. I might be a little uncomfortable, but young people are moving in there.
Once again, I'd sure like to get some more clarity on what is considered to be "nightlife" vs. other normal adult activities, and what the cities mentioned in this topic offer that makes one better than another.
I didn't say those places were "wild," but a "wild time" can be had there. You don't need places with a bunch of hip hop celebrities sucking up all of the oxygen in the room for that you know.

And when was the last time you had a "wild time" in charlotte? lol

The last time I went back for a couple of days, which was back in March. Plan to do it again when I get some vacation time the first week in July. Just because Charlotte isn't your type of city doesn't mean that people can't and don't have a lot of fun there. I developed a nice social circle while living there and was able to have a good time pretty consistently as hard as that might be for you to believe.
LOL, the idiot who repped me (thank you!) with a comment of "lies and fairytales" could have at least said it here for all to see instead of being a punk about it. Pretty sad that somebody has to go to such lengths to disparage a city they don't even live in to the point of calling a former resident a liar.
I don't see the big deal about the number of clubs in a city or the "diverse' nightlift that a city offers. Unless the club has some unique offering (like inside roller coaster rides or massive drink buffet that's FREE), they are all essentially the same. Same musical genre, video screens, and people doing the same thing..dancing, drinking $10 drinks, and HOPING to "score"! It's like going into a casino, you're going to see the same games....but the differences will be extras that the casino offers in non gaming activity!

I think that's a pretty fair assessment!
