Yeah if you got one of those, with almost any motor, you wouldn't have any issue getting there from the boat landing off Neck Rd.

Trust me, jon boat + motor is my ideal option but I live in a small 1br apartment in uptown so I have absolutely no space. I also sold my small s10 pickup and "upgraded" to a 2 door BMW so transportation would still be an issue.

Back at my parents house in Virignia I still have a 12' jon boat and a 2HP Honda 4-stroke, probably my favorite motor of all time.

It looks like I need to make some friends with boats

Have you heard of CHOA? I joined them a few summers ago and there were usually people with boats offering to take people out each weekend. Everyone just chipped in for gas:

Also, if you check out the canoe access points on Latta as mentioned here, the water is shallow and slow enough to make it more than safe for fishing from an inflatable.
