Hi all - I am wondering if anyone knows where I might find homes for rent in the Ardrey subdivision - my husband is being relocated through work, and we have identified that as where we'd like to live. We have 2 small children (ages 4 and 2). We're moving from the northeast and selling our house for a lot less than we paid for it, so we want to take a year or two to rebuild some savings before we purchase another home. We would love to get into the community though, that way there will be less disruption when we decide to stop renting and buy again.

I have been looking everywhere but can't find any rentals in Ardrey - I'm wondering if maybe the HOA doesn't allow rentals? If anyone knows of a good way to find a rental in Ardrey, or that I'm wasting my time, I'd really appreciate the information!

There are a decent number of rentals in Ardrey, but just not any on the market right now. That area is very hot in the Summer. Not sure how fast you need to move but I wouldn't be surprised to see something come on the market theer shortly.

Thanks so much Palmetto! At least I know that it's a possibility - if the HOA prohibits it and I'm holding my breath waiting for one, that would have been disappointing . Thanks for the response.

I would suggest having your agent contact the listing agents for the homes that have been on the market for some time. In some instances they may consider renting. I found a rental for one of my clients that way.

Thanks South Charlotte! We don't have an agent yet, so I will have to get working on that. I did contact the listing agent on our dream home in Ardery (which is listed for sale) but haven't had a response from her yet (I called and emailed her yesterday). Home has been on the market for some time and just dropped the price, so I thought they might be interested in a rental situation.

It also helps if the home is already vacant.

If it's your dream home, perhaps you could discuss a lease-purchase with the listing agent. It could get the seller to be more interested in you wanting to rent their home.
