I wish there was something that could be done about the idiots who insist on removing the mufflers from the mopeds. I should not have to hear your moped for up to 30 seconds before you even get to me. Isn't there a law relating to mufflers/sound-reducing devices on all motor vehicles?
I've seen people driving them on the sidewalks along Johnston Rd.
I've seen 'em on the sidewalks on Independence too. I called the police once about it and the first thing they wanted to know was what color was it. I guess only certain color mopeds are allowed to drive on the sidewalk.
Anyway, by that point I had already turned on Idlewild so I couldn't give them any addtional info.

They probably wanted to know the color it was so they could tell a cop in the area about it.
As long as they stay out of my way I have no problem with them... I can't stand seeing a person on a bike or moped in the middle of the street backing up traffic.

I know they like to take detailed descriptions of things but I don't think it was necessary in this case. There weren't enough mopeds on the sidewalk for the cop to not be able to identify it.
It'd be like calling in that a gorilla is loose on the sidewalk and they'd ask "Is it a mountain gorilla or a lowland gorilla?"
I would have been irritated if he was on the road too. But I didn't want to see any kids get run over by some fool on the sidewalk. I imagine I may have felt bad for them.
