I am wondering how much does it cost to get the blinds installed from outside (such as Lowes or any other company) for a typical home of 3000 sq ft (around 10 windows of regular of max 30x30 size) because builder is quoting about $2300 for 2" fauxwood type material. Any suggestions. Thanks.
Check with Lowes or Home Depot they will install them for less than that.
I have I think 20 windows in the house and a couple of years ago a self install purchased from Home Depot cost around $700, and that was for the 2" Fauxwood.
Home Depot will come out and do measurements for free (at least they did this a few years ago). Then the blinds are cut and made to order - far less than what the builder is charging.
I just had an awesome company install all me blinds in a few hours, nice 2" blinds, 2500 square foot house with ALOT of windows.....$1150. Best money i ever spent I will give you his information if you are interested.
Lowes installed our blinds. We have always gone with the slightly upgraded version Lowes sells and have never had any trouble with yellowing, breaking, etc.
It is a do-it-yourself job if you have a decent drill and easy to reach windows. This house had one that we could not reach. It was the same price for just that one installed or all of them done (about $200). The blinds were priced separately.
I had A Shade Above in Matthews do it and I think it was like $40 a window. I can' remember the total cost but at the time we figured out that it was not much more than doing it ourselves.
