My boyfriends company is moving to Charlotte and we have a friend who lives in the Waxhaw area. We are thinking about renting around there and then buying within one year. Is that a decent area, are there nice apts near there... can anyone suggest a better area??

Thanks!

It's a wonderful area but it does not have any apartments. Waxhaw is a single family home community with an enjoyable downtown area. I'm sure there are houses for rent. There's a town home development called Alma Village just north of downtown Waxhaw where I have seen "for rent" signs.

I just did a search and there are some townhomes for sale. I didn't even know there were any townhomes.

The only thing to keep in mind about Waxhaw is that a lot of communities in the surrounding area use the Waxhaw post office, but the community isn't really in Waxhaw. I have a Waxhaw address but it's really Wesley Chapel. My neighbor in Blackstone, and the little coffee shop in the Waxhaw-Indian Trail/Providence Road shoping center has a Matthews address (go figure that one).

Hi there. His company will be in one of the new warehouses near Forsyth Park Drive. I cant remember the actual park it will be in.. but it is right near there. He has always had a long commute to work, where we live now, and I have a short drive (15-20) min ... he wants to be able to be at work within 10 min of leaving the house.... and he expects me to have a long commute. Is that area far from the city and all the companies, but also fairly close to the area they will be moving the company to?

Waxhaw, NC is a great area. The commute is about 35 minutes to Forsyth Park, and goes the same direction as rush hour traffic.
