The Monroe office is packed first thing in the morning typically with waiting lines outside, but after the lunch time rush subsides, it's pretty easy to get in and out quickly there.

I was going to ask about the Albemarle Road location, since I need to renew my license. It's the closest to my home.

vmaxnc, I took my daughter to the Albemarle Road location last month for her road test. We had about a 10 minute wait time. I think it helped that we went just after lunch on a Wednesday. As earlier stated, Wednesday and Thursday seem to be the lightest days. Hope this helps!

I always go to Monroe. Like lmhelms said, don't go there too early. 11:00 AM is pretty good. Mid-week is supposed to be better than Mondays or Fridays.

I went to Mooresville on a Wednesday. Arrived at 2:30 p.m. based on someone's advice on City-Data. I was out by 3:45 p.m. with new license in hand.

Good luck!
The word must've gotten around about Mt. Holly. I was just there and had to wait 10-1:30.

Oh no!!! I am sorry! I have gone there for years with no problem. Maybe it was because you went on a Friday???

i live up near UNCC and the closest DMV for me is listed as tryon just south of wt harris. i drove by this location and it's just a trailer in a parking lot. is this an actual DMV where i can get a license or just an office facility that doesn't do licensing?
