I NEED TO KNOW which is the least busiest office where I can do my driver's license, even if I had to drive out way to the suburbs I would just to get it all done!! Any suggestions as to time also? I went to one and got turned away due to wrong or missing paperwork and went to another and they ran out of time and told everyone to come back the next day. Also there is some confusion with my OK DL as far as it transfering whats up with that?

Just go to any small-town DMV. Do a search for surrounding counties.

As for your missing paperwork, what exactly was it? Did it not correspond with what the website says you must present?

If your north of charlotte try Salisbury. I was able to call and get an apointment within the week. Very nice people too. It did get busy with walk ins, but cleared out in about 30-45 min. Good luck

Last time I used the Kannapolis office, it was pretty empty - around two in the afternoon on a Wednesday.

I think when is as important if not more so than where. I always try to go on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Not Mondays when people are starting their week or Fridays before they hit the road for the weekend.

We took my daughter to the Albmarle office. It was a Wednesday. Got there when it opened and there was no one in line. They were very nice. it's about a forty minute drive from east charlotte down Albemarle Rd. You might want to check the DMV website or call to be sure what documentation you need.

Do you mean the Albemarle office, or the Albemarle Road office? I'm guessing the former, now that I've read your post twice.

I was going to ask about the Albemarle Road location, since I need to renew my license. It's the closest to my home.
