Is there reliable places I can get my collection appraised? I do not want to leave them anywhere (you can figure out why). I want this done for insurance purposes as to know just in case I want to sell later on. I have no idea what is in the boxes. I opened one and got overwhelmed with how many actually fit in one box.

Heroes Aren't Hard to Find is reputable, reliable and very trustworthy. They won't swindle you or steer you wrong.

IMO you are just as well off looking up the values in a comic book guide yourself. Values are pretty standard these days.

I am also checking online as well but there are so many sites it is hard to figure out the best one. I guess it is like anything else on the internet

The guide "bible" for comics is the "Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide" through Gemstone Publishing. If you don't have a current edition, it would be a valuable purchase. One of the most difficult aspects of getting the correct value is knowing the true condition of the book. (Note: this is info from my husband, a long-time comic collector, not me--I don't know squat about this.)

The bad thing is that the values are constantly fluctuating. At one point my husband tried to update his comic data base every couple of years. He is now at the point of looking up his most valuable books and tracking them. Good luck. This is a time consuming effort. We have heard good things about Heros Aren't Hard to Find, but have not used them for appraisals. My husband is not actively collecting at this point.
