Default Rush Hour Commute Times

I tried searching for a thread with this specific route, but I couldn't find much about it. There's a pretty good chance that I might be offered a job in Concord, NC. I'll be commuting from Fort Mill, SC and have never gone that way in rush hour.

Ideally, I'd like to take 485 to 85, and I know 485 isn't awful, but I'm curious as to what that stretch of 85 looks like during rush hour. I'm heading up there Friday, so I may get a glimpse, but just looking for an overall opinion.

Thanks!

My guess would is that you will be fine since you will be going the opposite flow of traffic both ways.

I can't speak for 485, but when you get to 85 you will be merging into traffic coming from west of Charlotte. It's heavy, but not horrible (This is assuming no accidents.) It would be the same coming back in the evening rush.

A horrible drive. You should consider moving to Concord instead of Ft. Mill.

Wow, doesn't the price of gasoline intimidate you at all?? That's quite a commute!

You will be going against traffic once you enter I485 though, so it would move.

Long as you don't mind a 50 minute or so drive twice a day I guess I'd say go for it!
