Moving back to Charlotte in 6 months and will be looking to hang my license with a good agency. Anyone know of a reputable, smaller office within the CLT area?

You'll never lose with Allen Tate or Remax.

The only thing you will loose is $2000 a month with Remax and 50% of your commission with Allen Tate.

Find a small company or even KW gives you better options to grow your business.

RE/MAX fees are not that high. Mine are considerably less.

However, it is not for everyone.

I thought you paid them no matter what. I am sure there is a scale of some sort. Either way $20,000 a year is high to just give someone!

Yes, you pay them no matter what.

The fees do vary but there is not a scale. Basically it depends if you lease office space or not. Most are around $1200-1300 a month.

I agree the $20K a year is high to give someone but if your making a lot its worth it. Also in my opinion you will make that $20K just by people walking in the front door.

Default response

umm, I have news for you, NONE of them "provide" clients. That is ALL up to you.

I started with Cld-Bank.. several years ago with the same thinking and was very suprised when I found out they don't give you anything and charge 1/2 of your $$ plus monthly fees.

The real estate business is very cut-throat and believe me that nobody is just giving clients away, regardless of comm. split.
