All outbound flights have been halted after a security breach. A man walked around a security checkpoint and they are searching several planes for him.

My flight was suppose to leave at 1p and didn't leave until about 2:15p because of the backup.

It's bad if you're trying to leave Charlotte.

I was there yesterday picking someone up and spoke with a woman who's plane was on the runway for 6 hours only to have the flight canceled after that. A bunch of people who were connecting through CLT yesterday got bumped because the high temps changed the weight requirements. To make it bad the airline wouldn't pay for their room because it was an "act of God". On top of that I heard many hotels were booked up because of some convention.

Just a baaaad time to fly out of here

I am glad I am flying Airtran, non-stop to BWI in September. I usually travel US Airways and have the layover in CLT.

We had to pick someone up from TIA that was traveling in from CLT. She did not particularly care for the 2 hour delay, for no apparent reason. Honestly, we are supposed to get to the airport at least 90 minutes before our respective flights, but then there are delays? I can understand weather related stuff. That is normal. But when the weather is perfectly fine in both destinations?
