Default Candlewood Suites on University E.

I am considering staying at the Candlewood Suites at 8812 University East Dr. for a few months.

I have heard a lot of warning shots fired on here about the Sugar Creek area not being entirely safe.

I would be interested to hear thoughts on whether or not the hotel is in a safe area or not.

Thanks.

That complex should provide you with a decent stay as it is away from Sugar Creek Rd., but you may want to check out places at the Concord Mills/Speedway Blvd. exit of off I-85.

I stayed there for a month. I never had any concerns about safety. There are a lot of shopping centers in a reasonable driving distance and every chain restaurant you can imagine. The rooms were nice. Charlotte seems very much a block-by-block city when it comes to safety, so I understand your concerns. But the only thing I didn't like about my stay there was the traffic. For some reason, everyone in that part of town seems to drive like they're angry at the world all the time.
