Hi All,
I am a 'country boy' originally from Michigan (born and raised). I currently live in central/northern NJ and have been here for 2 years. Due to the extremely poor economy/job market in MI, once I graduated from college I was forced to look out of state for employment. That's how I landed in NJ. I figured I would give NJ a shot. Well to put it nicely, I'll just say NJ isn't for me. I'm actually surprised I lasted 2 years here.
10 years ago I was stationed in NC, so I am somewhat familiar with NC. However the only time I was in Charlotte was at the airport. I have been reading this forum for a couple of weeks to get an idea of the "better" areas to live. From what I have read, those areas would include the Lake Norman area, Matthews, and Pineville. In other words, North/South Charlotte. I'm curious as to what it's like right across the border in SC (since it's so close).
I am single, and I am looking for a 1 bdrm apartment. If anyone could help me out with info on any apartments/townhouses, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to hopefully find something in the $500 - $600 a month range.
I'll be coming down in a couple of weeks to look around to hopefully find an apartment. I'll be oficially moving to Charlotte at the end of September, so I would like to be have a few places lined up to look at for when I come visit.
I am excited and looking forward to calling North Carolina my home again!
TIA!
