Default Storm Damage 8/11/2011

The severe storms yesterday left a lot of damage in many places. Here's a some of the damage in Gaston County. No damage my part of Steele Creek. How are things in your neck of the woods?

Wow...I had no idea it was so bad in some places! I'm in Clover, SC - 2 minutes from the Gaston line and we did not have anything as bad as that! Lots of rain and dark clouds..but nothing like in Charlotte and Gastonia.

We were without power from 6 to 9 and there are trees down all over our neighborhood in South Charlotte. I didn't see hail but I've not seen torrential rain like that before. I will say this though...it sure beats drought.

I'm just a few miles across the bridge from Mt Holly. Saw the storm building up while I drove home on 485 --- it looked UGLY! We didn't see any major damage at our place, just small branches here and there.

I just came from downtown Belmont, it is a wreck over there. The damage is tremendous and so many of those huge stately trees are down.

We just got a light rain in my part of Mint Hill - didn't even get very wet under the trees.
