Finally! Someone in authority who recognizes the con-job played by Gorman, CMS, and Jennifer Roberts and who will speak about it. Man deserves my vote again. (and I am a registered Democrat)

Rightfully so? How do you figure?

"[CMS] did tell people this is an estimate," Roberts said. "This is what the state has told us to do. Look at a 10 percent cut. This is what the Governor has told us to do. This is what the legislature told us."

Yet Pendergraph feels duped? Posturing for the tea party... nothing more.

CMS said they were $100 million short. They didn't say this was an estimate. They said if they didn't get this money back they were going to cut 700 positions, middle school sports, and a whole host of other options they were very specific about. If their overpaid administration can't get closer than $100 million in their budget, the entire administration needs to be fired and the accounting outsourced to an accounting firm. The taxpayers are being ripped off.

Roberts never takes responsibility for any decision she makes.

proof? or are you just "talking" again?

I submitted a quote from Roberts that suggests otherwise son, I suggest you read back and understand then come back when you have something with substance.

Gorman to sketch $100 million in school cuts | CharlotteObserver.com & The Charlotte Observer Newspaper (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/01/05/1957578/gorman-to-sketch-cuts-on-tuesday.html - broken link)

I never "talk again". People paying attention saw this bait and switch coming for months.

there isn't anything in your linked article that supports your previous assertion except for confirming Gorman's intent to cut $100MM from the budget in the face of uncertain State and Federal allocations. zip, nada, nil, nothing, zero.

I really don't understand what would make you content. Gorman is CUTTING the budget in your article, yet he is accused of bait and switch?!? Of offering a con-job?!? Seriously, seriously weak logic.

Gorman whined to the CC because he didn't know what money he would get if any at all from the State. He got the money from the State and then some. They also got the funds from the county, double dipping and stealing at the tax payers expense. They need to return the funds asap. It truly is not hard to comprehend.

whined? Your description colors your bias from the first sentence.

Where, exactly, is the "then some" money? Admittedly, I haven't seen the budget sheets with exact figures (I've looked for them, but can't find 'em... if you can I'd love to see), but I think calling CMS thieves is disingenuous.

You do know that the County is on the hook for 26% of the CMS budget... it's not all funded by the legislature! This is a figure that, presumably, has been ok'd by County Commissioners, including Pendergraph. The $26MM represents about 2% of CMS' operating budget...

Why don't one you produce some evidence that shows the County has been "duped, suckered, conned, or otherwise" out of the additional 2%... then we can have some adult conversations.

The proof is in link I posted, which you obviously did not read. But that is par....
