i have mantis,i am not happy with them, i have had to have them come back , which they were happy to do, but truly it is impossible to kill these insects at all times. I fell for the sales pitch-i am truly sorry that i did-i will not re- new that contract.

do you think it is Mantis or just the way it is? IS it worth even having a service?

I'm wondering sort of the same thing.
I know I HAVE to get a service for termites. I'm not sure if I need the extra service for bugs/insects/etc...
My in-laws swear by the Ortho home defense spray available in most home centers...they spray it around the foundation every couple of months and haven't had a problem

you need the service for termites, but the rest of the added bugs that they show you on the sheet- i personally wouldnt do it, i still have all of the fire ants in the yard, you can buy something at lowes cheaper.Since i am not happy with Mantis- i have someonelse doing termites, my new home came with the first treatment.
Mantis comes to your house and sprays your yard, and in house, and cleans any spider webs down that may exist outside. i still have spiders in my house, i called them, they were very nice, they came back, i still have spiders in my house.

We use Mantis and have never had any problems. Just remember that you live in the South and that you will never get rid of the bugs.....just can manage them. Any time we have a problem, they come out the next day. They'll also remove bee/wasp/hornet....etc nests which I love.

We use the Ortho spray and rarely see any type of creepy crawly in the house. HOWEVER, critters such as garden spiders, granddaddy long legs, and ants outside . . . they are just part of the landscape . . . I have had no need for a contract w/ anyone - but you do want to keep an eye on termites . . . that would be the only time I would hire a professional service. Otherwise, we have been able to win the battle of the bugs using Ortho. The most we have had to spray is twice year; usually, once a year has worked out great.
