WELL, our place is almost sold. So I actually have to do a little research...Let's see if I can take the easy way out with a little help

Can you guys tell me where I definitely don't want to live in areas 4, 5 and 6. I would like a more mature neighborhood in a decent location to major roads (still have yet to figure out what those are ).... We don't want to spend more than $300,000 for 4 bedrooms excluding renovations...No kids yet, but it's something to consider as well.

THANKS!!!!!

There is no place in area 5 I would not live, just a few places in area 4, but I would not live at all in area 6 - just my 2 cents

Well, since I would live anywhere in area 5 there are no bad areas there to tell you about

I take back what I said about area 6, since it does encompass Dilworth - I would definitely love a house there However, most of area 6 is bordered by Park Road and Interstate 77, including the whole stretch of South Blvd down to Pineville and I would not live anywhere in that whole stretch. Too much crime, too "urban" for me.

As for area 4, there are just a handful of areas I would not live in - I would not live anywhere along Monroe Road from Wendover to Thermal Road for the same reasons as area 6.

Maybe this helps?

Area 6 has some nice parts, especially around South End. The train is opening this November so if you want to take advantage of that look in the upper part of Area 6 (South End, Dilworth). It is an older/more urban area that is definatelty exploding right now. Lots of new condos/apartments with older, single family homes mixed-in. I like it - it definately is a part of Charlotte with some actual "flavor".

Those are beautiful homes at the very tip of area 6, a literal stones throw from the SC state line. The only reason I wouldn't live there is because of the congestion getting up 521 for the commute

Big fan of Area 5 as well But, the areas cover such a different lifestyle from top to bottom that you really need more info on what your looking for. As far as commute time, how close you want to be to the city, how much land your looking for... etc.
Providence pointe might not be as mature as you might be looking for... their just a few years old.... but great community
