You know, I wondered when we all had repairs made if there would be more of the same later in the year. I hope that doesn't happen to anyone . . .

I drove through Winston Salem and there was hella rain and lightning. It was the type of driving rain that warranted putting on your hazards and considering pulling over all together. The lightning was insane and seemed like the second closest I have ever seen.

Went to Costco around 7:00 this evening and as soon as we walked in boy it started, we made it home safe but it was really freaky, rain so heavy lots of people pulled over 485 and we were going 30 - 40 MPH. It passed and now it's beautiful outside, enjoy the clean smell of the air.

YES! Nothing nicer than that fresh smell after a hard rain. Glad you are ok happehart!

You, too, BS13690. Driving in those conditions is maddening.

Oh my. Hope that situation doesn't last a long time. At least it is the weekend and no one has to get kids up and off to school in the morning. That is very challenging, indeed, when the power is off.

Well, apparently it was bad enough here that the Kings Mountain/Weddington game was suspended & will be finished tomorrow night (provided that we don't get another downpour). (They're coming back!)

If anyone will be coming out this way for the game, One of the seniors from Kings Mountain HS has scheduled an event in the park downtown for his senior project. Bands will be playing from 1 - 10 pm, & Battleground Steakhouse & Bar will be selling a limited menu that will be grilled outside with proceeds going to the charity involved (Make a Wish) -the restaurant will be open, though.
