Once Home Goods opens up, I'll be good to go. I believe it opens the 27th of this month! Counting the days...

IKEA is opening in 2009 in University City. I always liked that store and its cafeteria. While I lived in DC, I enjoyed it for that short period of my life. Then when I moved back to FL, no IKEA again. Now we are getting one in Sunrise, FL, in early fall, but by then I will be in Charlotte, so then again, no IKEA until 2009. When would I be able to taste their wonderful Swedish meatballs with cranberry sauce??!!

When you move here you should go stand where it going to be located til it done and be the first one in line and set the record for the person standing in the line for a store to open.

It is, but they also sell all kind of goodies for your home, including curtains, pillows, plants, kitchen utensils, lamps etc. And they have a wonderful cafeteria inside with good Swedish food.

I'm a big Whole Foods fan. Howard Stern's (Sirius Celeb) cousins are the fonders of Whole Foods and sold it to Fresh Fields. Although I like Trader Joes, Whole Foods/Fresh Fields provides a much better variety of organic/vegan foods than Trader Joes. That would be great if Whole Foods/Fresh Fields comes to Charlotte. I think but not sure they are in Carey

I think there is a Home Goods in Concord and Huntersville. There are a few Marshalls and TJ Maxx (both owned by TJX) in Charlotte.
