I'm looking to rent a slit seeder for my fall renovation. All of the Home Depots carry Classen brand seeders, but I'm not excited about how well they might work, just randomly dropping seed and then cutting slits on top.

Anyone know of a place that rents "real" slit seeders (not just a power rake with a seed box)? I have seen reference on the web to the Matthews home depot renting the Lawn Solutions turf revitalizer, but that was from a message dated circa 2007. Something hydrostatic powered like that would be great as I have a sloped yard.

Alternatively, anybody else have any actual success with the home depot Classen machines?

Thanks!
