As my family and I were hanging outside of our house a couple of weeks ago...a Bald Eagle flew right over the top of our heads (they are quite impressive looking). We are located off Lake Wylie, and I've also heard there have been other sightings around the Lake Norman area, and the Catawba River.

I've had deer, fox, racoons, rabbits, snakes, a small lizard, lots of beautiful birds all in my backyard, which is wooded. And lots of bugs and so many beautiful butterflies.

Not sure how many folks out there would be interested in this...but thought I would put it out there.

Carolina Raptor Center will be releasing a Bald eagle this Saturday if anyone is interested in attending.

When: Sat, Aug 25, 9:00 am

Where: Cowan’s Ford Wildlife Refuge at the end of Neck Rd

Directions from CRC to Release Site
From CRC– take Sample Rd out of Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, turn left onto Beatties Ford Rd , go 1.5 miles, turn left onto Neck Rd, go 4 miles (pass waste water treatment plant) until road bears to the left and turns into a gravel road. Continue 0.5 miles to refuge entrance. Follow gravel road for ~ 1 more mile to small parking lot at the end, overlooking pond.

No water or restroom facilities on site
