Unfortunately, realtor.com doesn't provide a very detailed search function (even in its "advanced search") and I haven't yet found one for the Charlotte market that does. An example of what I'm looking for is: valleymls.com. It enables a buyer to specify the type of construction (brick, fiber cement, stone, etc.), style (bungalow, ranch, Tudor, Cape Cod, etc.) and other features which are important to (at least some) buyers.
If a buyer would like to screen the Charlotte area mls listings for, as an example, either a one story house or a two story with master on the main level, with full brick or fiber cement (no vinyl siding) exterior, how could that be done without contacting a real estate agent?
It seems that USRugbyNo1 may be correct. The movoto site does not provide all of the search options we'd like. The terravista realty site linked under "search Charlotte" shows exterior options but if a house is 3/4 - 7/8 vinyl with just a small portion of brick or stone it will show up on a search that does not include vinyl as a preference. There's not an option for "full brick" as on the example given above. Thanks anyway.
Helen Adams Realty (Property Search (http://www.helenadamsrealty.com/property_search/ - broken link)) offers some of the features you're looking for (like property style, building type). I typically search on www.allentate.com advanced search feature.
Tate may have an advance search feature on their website but they do not carry all residential listings available from the MLS.
Just curious why you don't wish to contact an agent. There are many agents that will set up a search for you and leave it be until you are ready to go.
mod note:
per tos No realtor links, mls or any other form of real estate is allowed that goes to a specific realtor. Only realtor.com and carolinahome.com which do not take you tp a specific realtor is.
I always liked CarolinaHome's neighborhood search. Invaluable in looking at specific neighborhoods from afar. None of the others seem to offer that.
