Just a reminder of sorts. People are always looking for things to do, well tomorrow, being Saturday, and the first Saturday of the month, along with October 1, 2011, there are so many things to do I can't decide.
Here are a few:
1.
2011 Komen Charlotte Race for the Cure® Many thousands of people will be in uptown for this event. Things start very early, around 6am
2. Cars and Coffee at Northlake Mall. If you like cars, any cars, first Saturday brings several hundred to Northlake Mall in a totally informal cruise-in/car show. Some car pools meet here (see #1 above) so by late morning you will probably see some pink shirts around too. And if you really can't get enough cars you can stop in at nearby RK Motors, open to the public on Saturdays.
3. If you are still a Bank of America customer, first weekend means free museum entry with your BofA credit or debit card! The new Mint museum, Bechtler and Harvey Gantt are all right next to each other. (Don't go too early on Saturday - see #1 above)
Also, if you haven't seen the
Niki de Saint Phalle statues in the park across from the Bechtler museum, this is your last chance! They are fantastic but will be gone next Monday.
Weather should be nice. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
