Several years ago, I was driving through WV on a regular basis, to Morgantown. There was exactly *one* Starbucks in the whole state, at the travel center near Tamarack. There are more now, but I always got a chuckle out of that. I didn't realize there hasn't been one in Gastonia 'til now! I guess the presence of Starbucks is an indicator of 'civilization' today. Or gullibility, not sure which!
Waiting for a Starbucks to show you've finally made it is worse than waiting for a Whole Foods to define you as a world class city.
I prefer my pumpkin spice in a beer - had a delicious Imperial pumpkin ale from Loose Cannon last night at the Liberty. Very nice, aged in bourbon barrels with a small amount of spice.

I think that what's sadder is that you have nothing better to do than make posts to attempt to belittle this area. If Atlanta is all that you say it is, you should be much too busy for this crap.
A good non-chain coffee house is a whole lot better than a Starbucks.

Yep. One of our local coffee shops had t-shirts that read "Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks." Wish I had bought one before they were forced out of business, in part by the Starbucks that opened down the street.
