In fact who would want to go to some second rate "movie venue" that doesn't let you in with sneakers? How about wooden Dutch cobbler shoes? Flip flops? Warm fuzzy slippers with Winnie the Pooh adornment? Bare feet? Water walkers? Rock climbing boots?Ugs? Ballet slippers? Socks with 5 toes sticking out? (SK you wanted those for Christmas some years back).Timberlakes? Rubber boots?

What did I miss?

What I don't get is if the epicenter, or one of its businesses, is so blatantly racist, why do people, especially black people, keep trying to go? Can't you start a boycott of such a racist establishment? If I knew for sure that a business was being racist, I would make sure never to go there and give them my hard earned money. I would think that if they lost enough business they would be forced to either change their ways or shut down.

People seem to be mad because there isn't a double standard. People should know that today there are two sets of rules. One for us and one for them. They don't have to comply with ours. That would be racism. Now just fill out the blocks.

Because downtown there is only a few places to go... and in thise day in age one would think they could go anywhere and have a good time or at least gain entrance.

When some brag about not going there and going other places that cater to them they are asked why they choose to segregate themselves.

I'm being a little sarcastic but every time I have a friend from out of town I take them to the epicenter because it's a prime location downtown.

Will I do Mez again.. probably not.

Really? I can think of at least two dozen places, and I don't even party downtown. There's at least one or two in every hotel, half a dozen (probably more) on Tryon and College street each, etc., etc.

That sounds like the NY transplant thread who can't find enough places to drink and chase 20-something tail. If there's not 100 bars in a few blocks radius, some people aren't happy.

I'm happy, just giving my opinion on downtown/uptown and I think the Epicenter has the highest concentration of bars.
