We are thinking about moving to NC. Looking for the best schools in Union County for our two kids. Things to do, we are self employed and have a budget between 300-350 for housing. Any advice is appreciated.

We live in Union County and love it here. One thing to do before looking at homes is to get a preapproval letter. Lending laws have changed significantly over the past few years, and it is more difficult to obtain a loan especially if you are self-employed. You want to make sure you are looking at homes for which you will be able to obtain financing.

Thank you for the advice. We have the financing covered, all cash if needed.

My opinion on UC best schools is Marvin Ridge HS, Weddington HS, and Cuthbertson HS clusters.

You will have many options in your price range -- many of the communities will have amenities as well, such as a community pool, tennis courts, walking trails...we live in Hunter Oaks in the Marvin Ridge cluster. We have been very happy with the schools. Right now we have two in high school and one in middle school.

Thanks everybody for the comments and direct messages. We appreciate it but we decided to put our NC plans on hold for a while after reading so many negative comments on other threads.

really? You asked specific to Union what on other threads made you reconsider. Many of us like the area, either Union County or the surrounding areas
