Not saying that is not a comfortable salary, but many of those who belong to the 1% are just hard-working individuals who have earned a comfy living through effort, personal sacrifice and (maybe in some cases) a bit of luck - NOT mega-rich multimillionaires riding around in their yachts, rattling their jewelry at the homeless and causing countless jobs to disappear.

But what are they really doing? Especially those who have been camped out 24/7 for weeks now? What are they "doing" for our communitiy?

YOUR RESPONSE: I do not agree with you on your take on the 1%...
I then responded to that by asking you for your take on 1%.

When the Tea Party was in it's 3rd month did you get this frustrated when they had 12 different ideas?

I'm not deep in the OWS so I can't point you to the Oracle of the OWS movement.

Honestly, if they had 5 solid demands you would still ask the question because it's not what you agree with or what you want to hear.

It is what it is as of now... in time it may get bigger, it may crumble but instead of demanding the answer just wait and see. That's what I'm doing...LOL

We aren't discussing the Tea Party or any other movement. That's a specious argument.

I'll make up my mind about the solid demands when we finally seem them. I, like Ani, agree that something needs to be done. The OWS Movement hasn't provided a real world solution yet, just complaints.

Ani. just to add a bit to what you are saying, you have to also understand TV. Having worked in the industry for 20 years, I know what I'm saying, here.

TV lives & dies by ratings. Ratings are a perverse version of a popularity contest that is intrinsically tied to the almighty dollar. The higher your ratings (within your market, for a local station), the more you can charge for advertising time. Rates are set quarterly. Sweeps months (when the ratings count towards rates) are February, May, August, & November. November sweeps began Sunday.

The higher your market is, the more sensational your stories will be when they air during sweeps because more money is on the line. This is why WCNC is delighted to give Larry Sprinkle free reign on Halloween, because it's going to help boost their ratings in the November sweeps.

I get it that people are fed up & that banks are a big part of it. They played fast & loose with money, got bailed out by the feds, then turned around & denied operating loans to small businesses & caused those businesses to fail, putting even more people out of work.

What I don't see is how camping out in cities & holding hands while singing Kumbaya is going to accomplish squat. Just call me an old fart, but if you're going to protest, have a clear, concise message. Whether it was civil rights, the draft, or women's rights, you used to get a clear, concise message.

I agree, including on the "old fart" part.

I do believe if you read earlier posts in this thread you will find that.

Or you could just restate it. I am beginning to think you are avoiding the question because your response may not be palatable.

At this point, even the supporters are saying things like:
Yeah, and now what?

If we were facing warm and dry summer rather than a cold wet and snowy winter in most places...

My source? Melissa Hankins on BTV did a story on this just last night.
Anyone who goes along with the "panic" theory in this case probably believes that 9/11 was an inside job and everything that Alex Jones and George Noory says MUST be true.

If any such meeting was intended to be kept secret, like illuminati meetings and such , it would be kept a secret.

Conspiracy theorists, lol...
