Ani. just to add a bit to what you are saying, you have to also understand TV. Having worked in the industry for 20 years, I know what I'm saying, here.
TV lives & dies by ratings. Ratings are a perverse version of a popularity contest that is intrinsically tied to the almighty dollar. The higher your ratings (within your market, for a local station), the more you can charge for advertising time. Rates are set quarterly. Sweeps months (when the ratings count towards rates) are February, May, August, & November. November sweeps began Sunday.
The higher your market is, the more sensational your stories will be when they air during sweeps because more money is on the line. This is why WCNC is delighted to give Larry Sprinkle free reign on Halloween, because it's going to help boost their ratings in the November sweeps.
I get it that people are fed up & that banks are a big part of it. They played fast & loose with money, got bailed out by the feds, then turned around & denied operating loans to small businesses & caused those businesses to fail, putting even more people out of work.
What I don't see is how camping out in cities & holding hands while singing Kumbaya is going to accomplish squat. Just call me an old fart, but if you're going to protest, have a clear, concise message. Whether it was civil rights, the draft, or women's rights, you used to get a clear, concise message.
Absolutely agree! And effective leaders (protest leaders) use the media.
This group has failed to use the media - even tho they plainly had the attention for a while! They simply lacked exactly what you said: a clear, concise message.
Anyone who goes along with the "panic" theory in this case probably believes that 9/11 was an inside job and everything that Alex Jones and George Noory says MUST be true.
If any such meeting was intended to be kept secret, like illuminati meetings and such , it would be kept a secret.
Conspiracy theorists, lol...
brian you too are welcome to go listen to the video or read the text that usually accompanies it.
So you have missed the fact that there was just a little securities issue with bofa and countrywide? Just because Forbes rated them number 3, is truly irrelevant.
Did I not say that bofa was a target here in the area? Yes I did...but they are not the stand alone target, and perhaps you are missing that.
Where did I mention the 1% and what they are categorized them as? Or that I have mentioned them at all singly?
We have been confined to discussion on this forum and in this thread to the OWS movement as it applies to Charlotte, thus . . . it has created some constraints as to what can be discussed w/o this getting moved to the political forum.
No one has said that BofA is the only target of OWS - but BofA is a big player - and since they are in Charlotte . . . hence the discussion.
No ani, no re-statement...it is clear as to my thoughts on corporate america and those 1%'ers. And no links, why would I go search out my own comments.... LOL!!!

Well if they are your consistent thoughts I'd think they'd be "handy" without you having to search for them.

Nope. Internet debate etiquette dictates that the person or persons stating the case present the facts themselves.
I'd rather spend time finding my own proof to debunk your theories as opposed to seeking out the proof you use just to continue proving my point. Same result, double the work? Not really interested.
