Hello All,

Our family is relocating to Huntersville next month, and our 5th anniversary is the end of September. My sweet Mom is coming up to stay with the kiddos so we can sneak away for a night or so. We've considered renting a cabin in TN, but are open to any ideas some locals may have. Wouldn't mind staying in NC and exploring the surrounding areas even. Some interests include live music, wine, running, hiking, festivals, etc...

Thanks so much!

Why not try the Tryon, Saluda, Columbus and Hendersonville area.....just too beautiful for words, and right now....it might be a bit cooler than the brutal weather that we been having here in Charlotte.

We were thinking of going up to Shelton Vineyards for our upcoming anniversary. Exit 93 is a lot closer than TN, and there is a Hampton Inn right there.

Why not tour the Biltmore Estate and their winery and then spend the night at the Inn at Biltmore which is on the grounds.Downtown Asheville is also a neat town to explore. Here's the website BILTMORE in Asheville, North Carolina, Americas Largest Home and More!

I love September at the beach - but it is hurricane season, so it can be a little unpredictable. We have some beautiful beaches in NC within 3 to 4 hour drive.

I'd second Asheville as well. Great city with very good food, wine and activities.

You might want to check out both Groupon and Living Social. They both have, what they say are discounted, weekend get-a-ways. Not sure how much of a discount you'll receive but it might give you some ideas.
