honestly, I can't see how that redneck bit lasted this long to begin with.... seems like it wouldn't go over well in the South.
It goes over well in the South for the same reasons that Katt Williams, Martin Lawrence, and back in the day Richard Pryor can say a lot of what they say in concert. When you're part of the crowd, you can get away with it and make fun of it. Just like Chris Rock points the finger back at his people, Jeff Foxworthy is just talking about things that rednecks already know to be true about themselves.

Fair enough, I didn't know he was part of the redneck crowd.
Git 'er done should have been retired 5 years ago. That was probably the most annoying thing to hear people say, mainly because it never only came out of someone's mouth only once.

Still think the skit has run it;s course...
JF is definitely steeped in the redneck culture. I agree, that bit has lost a lot of appeal. In fact, I've not heard other comedians who ripped off that "you might be..." intro to use for their own routines in a long time.
Foxworthy is largely clean. Maybe our "culture" just can't handle that anymore.
or maybe he isn't funny anymore
