Here's an update: A local group called Forever Feline Friends agreed to take her. They take in rescues and do adoptions. I dropped the kitty off this morning at a local vet for spaying, and FFF will pick her up this afternoon and, once she's recovered, will place her with a good home (I'm confident).
Frankly, I'm surprised at how difficult it is to re-home a rescued kitty. This has taught me not to bother doing this again! (So, if you're a starving and cold cat and happen to be reading this, please stay out of my back yard and whatever you do do not come if I call you over!)
I left a nice donation for FFF, and if you want their contact info please PM me and I'll provide it.
To the poster above who expressed interest, I apologize for not receiving your note before this was set in motion. Thanks also to the people who helped me post pix here, and to anyone who passed along the word or saw the flier.
PLEASE: SPAY & NEUTER, USE A COLLAR AND GET YOUR PETS "CHIPPED"!
