I was watching, I think it was the local Fox station, a couple nights ago and they were talking about the Police Chief in SC that wanted all women to carry guns. There was a graphic up while one of the newscasters was talking. The graphic had to do with guns. One of the images in the graphic was of a Fembot, barrels showing, from the Austin Powers movies. Anyone else watch it and find it funny?

Here's a link that shows the graphic.

I SAW THAT SEGMENT!

I found it all rather tasteless. I did find the message interesting in re: to encouraging women to carry guns but the presentation is exactly what has turned me off to ALL media in Charlotte these days. Station managers seem to think they need to hire anchors who are kinda crass, in yer face, loud and what I would call TV's answer to "talk Radio." Bleeehhhh.

I did notice the graphic and found that mildly amusing, lol.

You have to remember/take into account that this was on The Edge. My understanding is that The Edge is intentionally over the top or what some people would find offensive. Also supposed to be more entertaining than informative.

In other words, just an excuse for them to show stuff more provoctative than usual and have the excuse of "well, it's The Edge".

I used to love the Edge and watched it for entertainment purposes only. But once Morgan and Brotha Fred left I lost interest. That Matt dude was way too over the top and annoying for us. Ramona was good though. I don't even know who is on there now.

LOL. You gotta just love that name . . .

My favorite weatherman is long gone . . . and most of you have never heard of him . . . CLyde "Cloudy" McLean . . . can't seem to find a clip of him on YouTube.

But I like Eric Thomas, too.

I yearn for the quality newscasts we had here under the management of Bob Inman, not only an outstanding anchor but also an award winning novelist.
