Great pictures, I guess I will have to make more of an effort and see the city. Looks like I'm missing some great art and views.

I was thinking the same thing. I seem to always wind up there on a Sunday afternoon when it is sleeping. I really should go on the weekdays when it is alive. Beautiful pictures, Sunny. Thank You

For those new to Charlotte, one of the nice attractions here is Freedom Park, pictured below. It has a nice lake, grassy areas, and a nice greenway that follows along the creek.

Hey Sunny...are most of these pics that you took in the same general area? I am asking because according to google, it is about 45 minutes from where I live in Concord and I would love to make a day of sightseeing since I am there anyways. Any suggestions of other things that I could check out?

I would love to hear from anyone here. We have been here since May 08 and haven't really seen any of the city and honestly don't know where to begin. That is how I stumbled on Sunny's thread. I was searching and saw the pic of the head fountain and am going to make a point to go check it out. My best friend is coming to visit us in February and I want be able to show her how beautiful Charlotte but that means that I need to know what to show her...lol.

Christina

IMO the metamorphis should be done while making a special trip to south Charlotte like going to Carolina Pavillion or Carowinds etc.

The rest of the photos I took Uptown there is a cheap or free (depending on time of day) parking garage called 7th Street Statio (http://www.charmeck.org/Departments/CATS/LYNX/7th+Street+Station.htm - broken link)n I would park there and walk, stop by the library
(i think it 6th street and tryon) the columns have cool literary quotes on it and I would recommend going during the week because the city is really alive then but it also serene on the weekends. I would walk within 7 streets north , south, and west of trade & tryon and yiou will see the locations shown above except gateway center .

There is a cool fountain I would like to add to my collection sometime soon near the Grand Thorton building off College
