Venting... I'm on hold with Time-Warner Cable. For the second time today... waiting, waiting, waiting. Listening to their awful muzak and endless commercials.

They blew me off last Friday for an appointment to install a second line, haven't called me back to reschedule. So today I called in to ask for the appointment. Talking to a machine just rubs me the wrong way, but there's no talking to a real person unless I jump through the hoops. First time I was on hold for 15 minutes, then got disconnected.

Now I'm on hold, after the machine told me my wait would be 10-15 minutes, which has largely passed by already.

Sorry to see this is what our society has come to.

Does anyone know how to get to a real person at that company???

That's TWC for you! Poor customer service is what they do best. I gave up calling and always went to the office on Arrowood Rd. Luckily I live nearby, so it actually took less time than sitting on hold and I was able to speak to a real person. That's why I don't have TWC anymore though...it's not worth it at all.

Thanks for the post and the idea. Unfortunately TWC offices are a little too far away for me.

What cable company do you have now? Is the service better?

We have a satellite now and the service is WAAAAAAY better. The only thing I've ever had to call for is to upgrade my channels, and you get a person on the phone right away. I've had to keep TW for internet, but it hasn't been a problem so far. Good luck - I know how frustrating it can be, we went through a nightmare w/TWC!

I've been wondering how a satellite would work out. If I ever get to move to another part of the country I may sign up for it out of necessity.

Thanks again for the input! (And the moral support!!!)

I'm surprised. I've had good interactions with their customer service. The wait times are rather long though.

I have had satellite for years and don't have any complaints at all except that we just don't watch that much TV anymore. So I had been looking at dropping it, getting a simpler package from TWC and putting a Moxi on it to pick up the few shows we do watch. However after doing some research, I've discovered that this isn't for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of time with TWC. They have implement some technical changes to their network to increase space that apparently cause issues with DVRs. So I think I am going to hold off given the trouble that people have had with them.

I guess I will hold off for Uverse, which isn't available here yet even though they seem to have installed some of the equipment for it.
