I realize Charlotte covers a large area and that someone testing in Matthews would probably get difference results compared to someone testing in Pineville.

But, I was just wondering if there is a huge difference or not, between an independent test and the various local .gov's reports.

I just looked on the Charlotte-Meck's water quality report and it seems the water is not bad. Putting on my tinfoil hat, I wonder how accurate the reports are?

Supposedly we have very good water. I've not had mine tested but I use a PUR filter on my kitchen faucet for any water I cook with or drink. Just removing the chlorine makes a big difference.

I recently swapped out the filter in my refrigerator. I drilled a hole all the way through it to see what had been filtered out. It was a brown muck. That could be sediment in the miles of pipe between CMUD (excellent pun intended ) and my house, but whatever the reason, that's stuff I'm not consuming.

The water tests meet all federal standards whatever that is worth. I personally drink spring water via DeerPark or Zephyr Springs. Any local water (or water from anywhere) goes through filteration systems in my house. I do that regardless of were I live whether I need to or not.

I know that water contains minerals, setiment etc. and it isn't harmful. I have been to cities and towns in Minnesota near iron ranges and mines where the water is redish from the minerals. The water even smells rusty. It is scary, but probably O.K. There were lots of old people around that have been drinking it for a long time.
