Why?
Why do they do this?
Not too long ago it started Thanksgiving week.
Now they start the first week in November playing Christmas music on the radio 24/7.
Not only that, but there are actually two radio stations doing this:
102.9 and 104.7. Is one not enough?
It is one thing to be ahead of the curve, it's another thing to be ahead of the season.
It is not Christmas season yet.
To me, Christmas season starts the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday).
Even then, I do not want to hear Christmas music 24/7
Yes I know I can turn the station, but it just bugs me anyway.

Thanks for letting me know, I like listening to Christmas music on the radio. It's the only time of the year terrestrial radio plays something other than their usual 200 or 300 songs they rotate weekly.

102.9 and 104.7 are soft rock. Soft rock stations usually are the ones that start off the 24/7 Christmas music. I once read that when stations change to a holiday format, the listener ratings go up, in some cases they double.

I agree it's overkill but $$ talks, and the longer they have the format, the more $$ they get.

The day after Halloween Wal-Mart in Indian Trail was playing Christmas music.
I walked out in disgust.

Radio stations should have more sense.

I hate stores that play Christmas music incessantly. I have been hearing the same cr^p tunes for over 50 years. I hated them as a child and still do.

I now avoid stores at Christmas mainly for this reason. All stores. If I hear that noise I turn around. In truth, I do as much of my shopping on-line so it is now not too much of a problem for me.

This Paris, France store has the right idea Store drops carols for rock. The are playing live rock music instead. Much better.

HA! Radio stations are to sense what deflating tires is to a bicycle. They don't go together.

I love old fashioned Christmas music and love decorations, etc. But it isn't even Thanksgiving yet. Christmas season always (probably unofficially) started after Thanksgiving. I wonder if it is just to get people in to shop?

Love it. Never too early to deck them halls and troll those ancient yuletide carols! I just wish that they'd play a few more recent yuletide carols.

Whilst I have said that Chrismas music is not to my personal taste I do have sympathy with store that play seasonal music and put up decorations early. Stores have basically 2 months of paychecks before Chrismas. This is their big time to shift stock and make money.

Little Jimmy and Jane like the pretty colors and they want all the shiny things on display too.

Since money is what makes the world go round I guess that I'll just have to shut up and let Mrs. krokus (who just loves shopping and adores piped Christmas carols) do the shopping.

Maybe I am the original grinch - hehe. Still want a good present from the wife though...
