I know someone that was arrested for DWI and Wreckless driving.....His first DWI offense in Mecklenburg County, but not his first DWI offense....He had a previous one from where he moved..Can he still lose his license and for how long?

hopefully.
I can forgive one but 2? Clearly he hasn't learned his lesson.
If the first one from another state is consider his second, his license will be taken at least a year with possibility of jail, contact an attorney, so they schedule it to be completed on weekends.
When he gets his license back he may be required to have interlock device on his car.
New tougher laws went into effect on the 1st, he might end up with alcohol detection leg bracelet.

The really hard part is that a DWI stays on your permanent record forever, making it nearly impossible to ever get a job, or at least one at a company that runs background checks.
Do what Loves suggested . . . send your friend to an attorney - immediately.
And I pray that you will be around next time to make sure you friend either A. doesn't drink to excess or B. doesn't get behind the wheel if he does drink.
The price of a taxi ride would have been much cheaper than an attorney,, his insurance, and the potential impact it could have on his future employment. Will people ever learn? He should be glad he was not involved in a crash. No sympathy here. Obviously, with a prior DWI on his record, he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Someone has suggested Goodman, Carr, Laughrun, Levine & Greene, P.A. in Charlotte. Excellent. Laughrun is one of the best and he's not one of the bottom feeders who frequent the courthouse.
