I like the furniture factory outlet in Waxhaw also. The stuff isn't "hot" he just liquidates which is very common, especially in the land of furniture. His building is low overhead to keep his costs down. I have bought many pieces here made from the "major" factories like Broyhill for 1/2 the cost. There is a tremendous markup on furniture.

It's a great place to just wander through the old school house and all the buildings attached. They have good prices on quality brand furniture.
I would avoid Haverty's. I mostly own antiques, but was in need of a nicer office set. For what I paid, it should have come in flawless. Came in, and the quality was unsatisfactory, the customer service people at the local branch (across from Carolina Place Mall) were remarkably rude, and all in all, it's been a very disappointing experience.
Goods is at the end of the Carolina Place mall block, they are from Hickory (have the same store there) and they sell many brands made right here in NC and yes transitional style too
