In the process of moving to Charlotte from FL. DH will be working in Davidson. I'm aware it will be a longer commute to Harrisburg but we found two rental homes we love..large yards for our young kids and dogs to run! So tell me about the area..? How are the neighborhoods, schools, crime, shopping, restaurants..? My young daughter wants to start riding lessons and I've heard there are horse farms in Harrisburg.
We looked ALL over for nice homes that fit our needs..especially in the Huntersville and Mooresville areas but amazing homes with fenced yards that accept large dogs are hard to come by...So please tell me Harrisburg will be okay for our family.
I should mention the neighborhoods we looked at are The Stallings and Rocky River Crossing.
I live in Harrisburg and used to live in Rocky River Crossing. Harrisburg is a very nice, family community. Good Cabarrus County schools. Not sure the ages of your children, but Harrisburg Elementary is excellent - both my kids went there. I believe Rocky River is now in the Pitts School Road Elementary district where Stallings would be Harrisburg Elementary.
Harrisburg is primarily a bedroom community so most people commute into Charlotte. Concord Mills, University close by. Only complaint is its a drive to nice, non-chain restaurants compared to Huntersville / Davidson.
Harrisburg is a very family friendly suburb. I think your family will like it just fine.
