I am doing my research on Charlotte NC because I want to move there. Yes I know that I need a job first to move there and I have one now. I work at La Quinta(motel) in Raleigh NC and I was told I can transfer. Right now I'm looking for another job and hoping I can do a transfer with that job. To me personally I just believe it's better to have a job here and I can do a transfer because it seem much better than looking for a job there. I have looked up some apts and I would like to know are these zip codes are safe areas to live in. 28205 and 28211. That is all I have for now. I was looking at least 2-4 apts complex to go see while I visit next year. I want to live on the bus line and the few I checked out are on the bus line and also near a shopping center. Now, I have a question about high school for my daughter. Is Myers Park High School a good school and West Charlotte High also. I was thinking finding a good school first then strive to find a place in that school district. Thank you all for the advice.....

I am sorry I don't know enough about the areas or schools you mentioned but wanted to chime in and say good luck on your move!

The zipcodes listed are good areas , but have bad spots. Myers Park is a good school , whereas W.Charlotte is not. With a teen , your best option would be homeschooling or private school. I know teens will be teens , but the way things are with our civilization , if I had kids , I'd keep them tight beneath my wings. All of the best schools are in S. Charlotte , provided you closely monitor their internet/cellular usage. This may sound jaded , but that is what society does to some of us. Better yet , check out the northern suburbs of Huntersville , Davidson , and Cornelius. The traffic up there is annoying at times , but they are good areas as well. There are express buses and neighbourhood shuttles that travel throughout the LKN eastside towns , but service is sporadic. Your best bet would be procuring a car prior to the move , as surviving without a car here is sketchy at best. What price range for apartments are you in? That can be of assistance with narrowing down rental options , and areas of town. Another decent area is Steele Creek , but there are too many young people around here who drive like stone cold fools , thus bussing it from out there is not a good idea , as I live out there , and have nearly lost my life 3 times in 2 weeks by young fools who have lack of vision , and were using cellulars while driving. Even some of them drive with no headlights. I was thinking of relocating due to this issue.
