We will be in Charlotte with our 2 young children this week and would love to know where to eat (non-chain) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are staying in the Ballantyne area. Thank you Charlotte

Second Macs! In Ballantyne Terrace Cafe is delicious for any meal especially breakfast. Also try Lorenzo's for pizza (Ardrey Kell Rd). Briggs is also good for breakfast. In NODA (near downtown): Amelie's Bakery and Cabo Fish Taco. Mellow Mushroom that just opened is probably very good, but I have not made it yet b/c the wait is too long.

Brigg's and Terrace Cafe for Breakfast. I personally don't get the hype of Mac's BBQ, though I don't think there is much BBQ in the area other than Elwood's. Lorenzo's is VERY popular for pizza as is Libretto's (my choice of the two). Mellow Mushroom recently opened- but they are a national chain.

Breakfast:
take a 20 min drive to stacks on Broome st. in Waxhaw(get their early or be prepared to wait) but by far the best breakfast I've EVER had.

Lunch:
Lorenzos pizza on Audrey Kell just east of 521

Dinner:
Firebirds in Stonecrest

These are all a bit south, but well worth it.

If you go to macs and order a slab of ribs dont assume they will be tender and not tuff. The ones I ordered were so tuff I could barely eat them....
