Turn Left onto Ardrey Kell Rd. from 521 South. It's immediately on the right.

The Y is more expensive, but you get what you pay for:

There are way more Y's than Peaks in the Charlotte area

There are many more activities at the Y than at Peak

There are no annual contracts to sign at the Y

The Y is a better social avenue than Peak (social activities, sports, groups, etc)

Also if you have kids or swim, the Y comes in handy. Especially with the discounts offered to members for sports.

Yes, and not to mention basketball, volleyball, gymnastics (for kids), racket ball, judo, muay thai, and water sports. They also have outdoor adventure clubs, etc.

I agree with your statement however...A lot of people use the Y strictly for the gym aspect and what does it matter that there are more Y's than Peak fitness? You get what you pay for? Are you saying the Y has better equipment or something? I don't understand....Do you actually use more than one Y? As for a social avenue? I go to the gym to work oout not socialize...I just don't get what you are trying to say

LOL...I wasn't knocking Peak, I was just saying you get what you pay for--there are more things offered by the Y and there are more locations for convenience (choose near your work or home), and there are more activities available.

If someone is looking for the things I described in the previous post, then it would be worth the additional money.

For someone needing a gym for working out only, then Peak would likely fit the bill better as it is strictly for exercising.

Make sense?

we belong to the JCC and it has everything the Y does, but I dont use the facility there so I was interested in Peak as it was alot closer to me...as I dont care for the J very much...I heard the Y was very nice though...I pay 89.00 a month at the J for the family
