Amazing how gas prices in Charlotte have jumped in the last 2 days. The average is now $3.44. I know it is the new tax but come on people!

I just ran down to Fort Mill and paid $3.08 for gas. Well worth the drive and saved over $8 to fill the tank. Couple times a month for that will pay off in the long run.

Every car at the station had NC plates.

Yeah, we are so close to the SC line . . . we often head to SC, and combine grocery shopping and a tank fill up. I think it only really pays off, tho, if you are nearly on empty and can combine other needed errands at the same time.

It's only going to get worse. I'm a Fleet Manager by trade, so this is my life. Ha. Predictions are it will hit $4.50+ at it's peak this summer. About a 19% increase year over year overall.

The jump was coupled with the worldwide jump in crude yesterday...up 4%.
Double whammy.

Its still holidays til schools go back so extra traffic on the roads and gas tax.

I agree with Uncgirl gas probably be over 4 bucks.

Yetgas and other fuels was the USA biggest export last year go figure.
In a first, gas and other fuels are top US export - Yahoo! News

Oh nooooo. I hate driving my little mazda miata in heavy traffic on I-85 (I do have a rollbar but dang - those big trucks do intimidate me) . . . but I guess I should hang onto it - great gas mileage.

My nearest gas station is in SC.

I have been using an app to track my fill ups for the last year.

What was interesting to see for 2011 the following :-

Minimum Price $2.78 a gallon
Average Price $3.34 a gallon
Maximum Price $3.91 a gallon

Yup. Just paid $3.14 in Rock Hill yesterday.

Still, we should consider ourselves lucky. Gas is a lot cheaper in the U.S. than it should be.
