Question Places that buy aluminum cans.

I would like to sell aluminum cans for some extra cash.

I don't believe so - we recycle them here instead of selling them.

Did you ever see the Seinfeld episode ...where Kramer and Neuwman borrow the mail truck to bring their recyclable cans to a different state??? maybe you can try that!!! Just kidding....Really don't know what you can do with them.

Senior member, huh? Had a Senior Moment? They still give cash for aluminum cans in Charlotte, and I've lived here since birth (except for a few years out of town)! There are many of them, and when I lived in Monroe there was one right around the corner from me close to Hwy. 74 that gave really good and honest cash for cans. Having recently moved from Monroe back to Charlotte, I'm now looking for a close place to sell cans like I did there. I found one but it didn't pay near as much as the Monroe place, and was WAY too far to drive for that many cans. If anyone wants to know, I'm on the EAST side, like Mint Hill, Hickory Grove and close to Matthews side of town. All I'm looking for is a nice honest place to sell my numerous cans.

Thanks

Why so rude? I said I didn't believe we had any places like this in Charlotte since recycling is so big here now - I didn't say "NO WAY, ABSOLUTELY THERE ARE NO PLACES BUYING CANS IN CHARLOTTE".

You yourself are apparently having a problem finding a place to sell to - so if they are around there aren't too many of them. At least you can always drive back to Monroe since you know there's a place there

CharMeck has a huge list of recyclers, and some are for aluminum. You just have to contact each one individually to see if they BUY the cans or only accept them.

Metals Recyclers (http://charmeck.org/Departments/LUESA/Solid+Waste/Business+Recycling/Metals+Recyclers.htm - broken link)

Probably the biggest in Carolinas and should pay reasonable price is:
Atlantic Scrap & Processing, LLC
419 Atando Ave
Charlotte, NC 28206
Phone: (704) 375-5937
Toll Free: 1-888-632-5902

Aluminum (and all metals) are at lowest prices in years (automotive is biggest mkt for aluminum, consumption down almost 50%yoy) so you won't get much...scrap yards have no market to sell their scrap so they will only buy if they can buy cheap. These guys are affiliated with the biggest scrap company (OmniSource) in US.

This is great info!

Too bad the poster wants something closer to Mint Hill, he might think this is too far to go.

Yeah that's right around the corner from me and a little difficult to find but they do pay decent especially for copper.

In college we dropped off about 2 years worth (15 bags) of crushed beer cans and got enough cash for a keg at a scrap yard in Harrisburg. Not sure the name of the place but driving on 49 you can't miss it.
