As someone who actually has friends who own million dollar plus homes on Queens Rd and in the surrounding area let me assure you that they could (a) buy you twice and (b) often have 2nd and 3rd homes inthe areas you mention and (c) will certainly tell you that it is indeed exclusive. If it wasn't exclusive, we'd all be able to live there, now wouldn't we?

Oh, and if you took Queens Rd to get to Ballantyne, you were really in need of GPS.
Same goes for Ballantyne. What is it that you don't understand about that. Not every house in the Myers park area is a million dollar plus home; same goes for Ballantyne & Piper Glen. If you're saying Ballantyne and Piper are not exclusive neighborhoods

First of all, I am from out west and from a CITY twice as large as Charlotte. You know, I am one of those "transplants" you talk about who are getting you out of your redneck image, as you said in another thread?

Secondly, I agree that Piper Glen, Ballantyne, and Myers Park are all exclusive. You are the one who said there are no exclusive neighborhoods in Charlotte at all.

Oh by the way Fred, this is not like other forums. We have rules. Keep up the insults, and you'll be banned in no time. You've been warned.

Why would anyone care what address is most exclusive in Charlotte or anywhere else for that matter?

NO, what I said was that since a certain somebody is stating that Ballantyne or Piper Glen are non-exclusive neighborhoods, then no neighborhoods in charlotte are exclusive. Because they pretty much all look the same. There's no unique qualities about the neighborhoods in Charlotte. Some people need to get out more...

Because it helps in business situations. Generally, people from old money and long-time connections in the area live in the the most exclusive areas in the city. This generalization may not be true in every case but I experienced this tendency in the past.

lovesMountains already pointed out what the difference between an exclusive address and a "McMansion" address is and the characteristics stated above IMHO differentiate the people.

One important skill to learn if you want to be the most helpful in answering any question posted is to read the question carefully. Too many people skim the questions, then give answers that do not accurately address the original question.

Our op asked about "certain addresses / roads that are generally considered as the most exclusive in Charlotte."

I believe I have answered his question with the most accuracy. If YOU do not understand the difference between Myers Park and Ballantyne Country Club that is your problem, I get out plenty and DO understand the difference.

Who said they were not nice? They simply are not the most execlusive. Anyone familar with Charlotte knows Eastover and certain parts of Myers Park are by far the "fanciest" addresses. Eastover and Myers Park do not look like Ballantyne or Piper Glen. For one, they are much closer in (basically an hour closer by car during rush hour). Additionally, they have historic mansions, far more mature landscaping, etc. Further, the people in those neighborhoods are generally the most politically connected and/or biggest players in finance (or have long term ties to the city).

Granted, they have more mature landscaping. That's just b/c it's one of the, if not, the oldest neighborhood in Charlotte. Ballantyne is a very young area and is still growing to this day. Not every house in the Myers Park area is a mansion, and that's fact...

If the significance of Myers Park lay solely in its "mature landscaping" it would indeed be like many other places. You seem to lack the ability to comprehend the op's original question and why several of us have answered it the way we have. If all you want to do is argue and insult people there are many other forums that will happily accomadate you. City-Data is not intended to be used that way.

Morrocroft Estates, Myers Park, Evermay are probably the most "exclusive". But if you base "Exclusive" by monetary means only then The Ballantyne Country Club would have to be up ther with Myers Park if you go strictly by the numbers.

Not trying to start any arguments
